Located very close to the border with Iran, Jiwani is the last significant town on the coast. Amongst other things, it is popular for its warm, crisp and vibrant sunsets particularly due to the fact that the setting sun here looks much larger and clearer.
Jiwani was significant to the allied forces during World War II as a major airbase in the region. Remains of some of the airfields from then still exist in addition to a Victoria Hut which is believed to have been built for the Queen to visit and enjoy Jiwani’s sunsets, however, she did not make it here. The hut still stands and is maintained by the Pakistan Coast Guards.
